Fostering Pay and Allowances 

At By the Bridge, we believe that it's important that Foster Parents are treated and recognised as professionals, given not only financial payments that cover the costs of caring for children or young people but also a professional fee for their work.

We offer generous and competitive fostering pay and allowances, depending on the type of fostering you do. We know that, although our payments are very competitive, it is impossible to place a monetary value on work that Foster Parents undertake on a day to day basis.

Foster Parent Pay

We offer Foster Parents excellent pay and allowances - with 3 grades of promotion linked to training and professional development.

As a minimum we will match your professional fees but our experience is that Foster Parents earn significantly more within their first two years of Fostering with us due to our promotion structure.

We also provide higher professional fees for Foster children and young people that require more skilled or specialist support, such as:

• Autism
• Disability
• Specialist behaviours
• Parent and Child 

Foster Parent Allowances 

Our Foster Parents also receive additional allowances, that many other providers do not offer, to help towards all the added costs of looking after children: travel, clothing, equipment, festive gifts and a little extra so you can take foster children on holidays with you.

Allowances such as:

• Festival and Birthday Allowance
• Summer Activity Allowance
• Clothing Allowance
• School Uniform Allowances
• 6th Form/College Allowance
