Whether there is a reason you are considering moving to By the Bridge or are just looking for a new challenge, be assured that as a Foster Parent you have a right to transfer fostering provider.
There is a clear set of guidelines by the Fostering Network that aim to make the transferring process as simple and easy-to-do as possible. The most recent were updated in 2015 and help explain good practice and guiding principles for any Foster Parent wishing to transfer.
The protocol states:
‘The transfer of carers protocol is based on the assumption that carers have the right to freedom of movement between fostering services; and the principle that, in all circumstances, the welfare of any child in placement must be paramount’
The protocol is aimed at providing good practice guidelines when a Foster Parent wishes to transfer between fostering services. It recognises a Foster Parent’s right to freedom of movement.
