By the Bridge with Cambian have been raising awareness and showing their support for Anti-Bullying Week this week (11-15 November 2019).
The Yorkshire team got involved by taking part in 'Wear Blue Day' on Friday 8 November, with every member of the team sporting something blue as well as wearing their blue Anti-Bullying bands with pride [pictured].
So far, Yorkshire had managed to raise over £100 at the beginning of the week from generous dontations from staff and By the Bridge Foster Parents whilst also holding an in-branch cake sale [pictured].
Our West Midlands branch have also shown their support by wearing odd socks on the 12 November [pictured].
Every day, Supervising Social Worker, Tiff Owens (Yorkshire) will also be sending out a poem to all staff to raise awareness of bullying and get people thinking about the effects it can have on young people.
Anti-Bullying week is a great opportunity to reinforce the messages about how our organisation approaches and tackles bullying. This includes knowing the steps to take if someone is a victim of bullying, ensuring our staff know what to do if they are bullied and how we can deal with anyone who is bullying. It's something that should be taken seriously because of the long-term effects and impact it can have on friendships, self-esteem and the emotional and mental wellbeing of people who are subject to it.
The theme this year is 'Change starts with us' and you can get involved by sharing your support on social media with the hashtag #AntiBullyingWeek.
