Following the publication of our recent Ofsted inspection which took place in June this year, By the Bridge North West are proud to have maintained our overall rating of GOOD.
We are pleased to have received this positive result, despite the challenges presented to us all by the pandemic during which we have adapted seamlessly to remote working, ensuring that we were constantly finding new ways of ensuring we can continue to deliver services and respond to the needs of our children, families, customers and all our staff.
Feedback from the inspectors and published in the report were very positive, with some requirements and recommendations to assist us further to improve the services we deliver. We have come a long way with a new leadership and management team taking the registration forward during unprecedented times, complemented by the positive steps we have already taken thus far to develop and improve processes.
The report highlights that our children are overwhelmingly positive about living with their Foster Parents and their views were reflected in their comments that were recorded. Foster Parents also stated that they are well supported to meet children’s physical and emotional health needs.
Registered Manager, Pam Talbot, said: “We are extremely proud to have maintained a GOOD Ofsted rating, which also took place during our transition to a new management information system, CHARMs. We were already aware of the issues we needed to address in regards to reporting and Foster Parent reviews, progress of which we were able to share with the inspectors during the week with us. We demonstrated the plans we have in place to complete the transition to the inspectors, of which they had confidence in our plans.
“Our Foster Parents and our staff have done an amazing job to make sure By the Bridge continues to ensure that the child’s experience is safe, positive, and enables them to achieve their very best.”
